Funeral Flowers: Is it Appropriate to Send Flowers for the Casket?

    January 23, 2014 0 Comments

Funeral Flowers for a CasketTraditionally, immediate family members adorn the casket at a funeral service with floral arrangements known as “casket sprays.”  But, this is not a hard and fast rule.  If you are not an immediate family member but would like to send a casket spray for use on the casket at the funeral service, inquire with the family of the deceased first. I would recommend making a quick call to the funeral director (as opposed to directly calling the family), as he or she can help communicate the wishes of the family, helping you avoid any awkward interactions during this immensely difficult time. Oftentimes a florist can also help with these communication issues.
