Last week, we made an announcement that made us both proud and served as motivation to work harder and faster:  eFuneral and Hospice of Dayton have partnered together to bring eFuneral’s services to the Dayton and Miami Valley Ohio areas in order to help the families and individuals that Hospice of Dayton serves plan funeral services.

This partnership made us proud because of the reputation that Hospice of Dayton has built as an amazing, innovative organization that provides high-quality services and top-notch care.  Upon walking into their hospice house facility, it’s easy to detect their dedication to patient care.  Hospice of Dayton is unafraid to spend resources on improving the comfort level of their patients, which results in a better overall end-of-life experience. Kent Anderson, who took over as Hospice of Dayton’s CEO just two years ago, has made it his personal mission to use innovation to improve the service he provides to his patients.  As a result, Hospice of Dayton is known as one of the nation’s leading independent hospice agencies.

Our partnership with the Hospice of Dayton motivated the eFuneral team because we have a great opportunity to help families like we’ve never had before.  Hospice of Dayton serves over 3,000 patients (and their families) each year, and we know that many of those patients and families don’t yet have plans for what funeral home to work with for funeral and/or memorial services. Additionally, many of those individuals don’t know how to begin finding, comparing, or selecting a local funeral home.  Now, those patients and families will have a free, confidential resource that will help them through the process.  For us, this means that we have to work extra hard to build up our network of funeral homes in the Dayton and Miami Valley region so that these families can get the information they’re looking for.  It’s a challenge indeed but one I know that we’re ready for.

To some in business, a partnership is an everyday occurance that doesn’t have much meaning.  To us, this partnership means much more.  It’s our chance to really help families.

And for that, we’re grateful.
